Overview

John H. Northrop & Associates, Inc. d/b/a JHNA is in the process of hiring an Embedded Software Engineer to support the Product Manager Applique and Large Unmanned Ground Systems- PdM (ALUGS).  This is a full-time position, located in Warren, MI.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

Provide support to the Product Manager for Applique and Large Unmanned Ground Systems- PdM (ALUGS) in the execution of software design reviews, sustainment planning, certification planning and implementation, verification planning and compliance, requirements and specification assessments and trade-space recommendations, interface management, software architecture, design decisions, power management software, embedded training, vehicle reprogramming, logistic support analysis, change management, metrics generation, analysis and management, review of technical proposals for vehicle system products, and support of configuration management activities.

 

Will lead development and review of documents and specifications in support of ALUGS acquisition lifecycle including: 

  • Statements of Work (SoW)
  • Work Directives (WD)
  • Software Requirements Specifications (SRS)
  • Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL)
  • Data Item Deliverables (DID)
  • Other contract/system engineering documents as required

 

Responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, directing, and coordinating the research, design, development and engineering activities for robotic systems.

 

Direct and participate in the preparation and execution of program plans, including creating documentation, schedules, budgets, and milestones necessary for the overall planning and execution of the assigned program.

 

Apply knowledge of DoD Acquisition processes and requirements.

 

Incorporate the principles, theories, and methodology of software engineering, software development, and computer science, combined with related knowledge gained through job experience and/or training to provide Life Cycle Software Engineering (LCSE) services.

 

Applies in-depth knowledge of computer systems and operating systems software, software architecture, high order programming languages, and knowledge of accepted computer science technologies and methodologies to ensure the safety, security, reliability, maintainability, interoperability and configuration integrity of the software components used in PdM ALUGS programs.

 

Ensures that all software complies with required standards for software assurance and cyber security.

 

Attend meetings, coordinate activities and review deliverables with other members of the project team, TARDEC SEC and Program Management Office Force Projection as needed.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Bachelors degree and 5 years of relevant experience software specific experience (e.g. multiple coding languages, UML, software testing). 

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

  • Candidate must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Secret security clearance.

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Experience in the development and employment of embedded software.
  • Active Secret Clearance
