JHNA is seeking candidates for a full-time position working as a Senior Maneuver Warfare Subject Matter Expert (SME) developing Concepts of Operation (CONOPs) for future robotic combat vehicle applications. This position will assist the Next Generation Combat Vehicle-Cross Functional Team located at the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan, however it will sit in Washington, DC.  This position will coordinate with academia, industry, and several government agencies. Responsibilities include direct coordination of concepts development with the Army’s Maneuver Center of Excellence, the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, Aviation Center of Excellence, and Support Center of Excellence.  Concepts created will ultimately assist the Army Staff Lead for Ground Robotics with program management strategy, prioritizing systems within the Army budget, linking Army capability gaps with solutions, informing the Joint Ground Robotics community.

  • CONOPs Development in Support of Requirements Systems Integration (RSO): Generation of Advanced Maneuver Concepts for Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV) development
  • Generation of Power Point presentations depicting Operational Concepts
  • Integrating robotics and autonomous ground systems concepts into emerging programs that support Army prioritization, RCV family of systems.
  • Staff Synchronization and Integration with CFT designated entities- harmonizing and integrating with various industry, academia and government stakeholders relating to RCV development.
  • Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.



  • Masters Degree Required. Master of Science degree is preferred.
  • Candidate must posess or be able to posess a government issued DoD Clearance
  • Candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be a self-starter that is prepared to work across multiple programs.
  • Must be capable of expressing operational concepts in written and pictorial format. Tasks will specifically describe maneuver-oriented missions or scenarios and basic elements of task-to-subtask decomposition as a part of the interview process.
  • Must have the ability to decompose Army Universal Task List (AUTL) components into tasks and subtasks
  • Maneuver Warfare leadership experience is required. Ideal candidate will have battalion command experience or above.
  • Ideal candidates will possess recent Unmanned Aerial System or Unmanned Ground Vehicle capabilities development experienc


  • Conventional Maneuver Warfare experience is critical; however, we also desire the applicant to have experience in the development of system engineering concepts and documents. 
  • An engineering background experience with either military ground maneuver platforms or robotics and autonomous systems is advantageous.  Power Point animation skills and/or video editing experience is preferred.
